10% Aluminum-90% Zinc Coated Channel Linings Gabion Wire Mesh
Products Description:
Gabions are used for the construction of retaining structures in all environments and climates. They are rectangular baskets made of hexagonal woven steel wire mesh laced together and filled with stones.
The overall structure of the retaining wall made with gabions is characterized by the following factors:
As we all know, the zinc coated wire has outstanding corrosion and rust resistance performance during using. The aluminum-zinc alloy wire has triple performance and service life than the pure zinc wires.
The zinc-aluminum alloy steel wires are woven or welded into panels and then connected to form cages for protection and decoration. According to different content of aluminum, it can be divided into zinc-5% aluminum-mischmetal (Zn-5 Al-MM) alloy-coated gabion, which is known as Galfan gabion and zinc-10% aluminum-mischmetal (Zn-10 Al-MM) alloy-coated gabion.
Woven Mesh Gabion Baskets or Gabion Cages and es are purpose designed stone filled wire mesh baskets or cages for use as retaining structures. They are also sometimes referred to as just stone filled bastions, stone cages or baskets. Gabion baskets are an economical, environmental and established solution for structural retaining walls and coastal defences. Designed like for like, gabions are hard to beat on cost and aesthetics when compared to other established retaining wall systems such as reinforced concrete and masonry. This is particularly so for low to medium height retaining walls.
Woven mesh gabion baskets are nowadays usually refered to as the traditional gabion. They have been in use for retaining wall construction for a long time and is a tried and tested retaining solution.
Different twist structure
The 10% aluminum-zinc gabions can be made into double twisted structure, which has 3 strands. It can also be made into triple twisted structure, which has 5 strands. The double twisted gabion is suitable for the common applications and is more economical than the triple twisted gabion. The triple twisted gabion has higher tensile strength and stability than the other type. It is suitable for the heavy duty applications to defend the high impacts.
Double twisted structure. Triple twisted structure.

Gabion box application:
Advantages of the Gabion:
An outstanding advantage of the gabion is its flexibility. Its double twisted hexagonal mesh construction permits it to tolerate differential settlement without fracture. This property is especially important when a structure is on unstable ground or in an area where scour from waves or currents can undermine it.
The strength and flexibility of the steel wire hexagonal mesh from which gabions and es are made is utilized to withstand and absorb the forces generated by retained earth or flowing water.
Hydrostatic heads do not develop behind gabion structures because of their permeable nature. Their ability to combine drainage and retention functions make them ideal structures for slope stabilization.
Gabion or is a heavy monolithic gravity unit able to withstand earth thrust. Its efficiency increases instead of decreasing with age since further consolidation takes place as silt and soil collect in the voids and vegetation establishes itself.
Gabion installations are more economical than rigid or semi-rigid structures for a number of reasons.
